The Pistons are in the process of fisting the Jazz AGAIN. Are they this good? I think they are, they have phenominal depth and everybody is playing great defense. They seem ready to go to the next level. Detroit likes this team? Hard working, talented and approachable. Ben Wallace is the perfect face to have on the franchise right now. I get the impression that die-hard Pistons fans don't have to work too hard to imagine him playing alongside Laimbeer and Isiah.

Spent the day today killing time. My old boss resigned from WDFN. Said he just wasn't enjoying the job anymore. That makes three of us in the last six weeks. In the immortal words of Grandma Traylor, "someday I'm gonna write a book."

Michigan is playing Wisconsin tomorrow in Ann Arbor. I'll head up and check out the game. I don't think Michigan will have much trouble beating the Badgers, however the way things are in college football this year it seems that anybody can be beaten. One week til OSU.

Six weeks off the air

Six weeks off the air and I am dying to get back. Unbelievable goings on this fall. MSU fires its coach, Michigan finally admits the Fabs were dirty, Lions still getting hammered by the Packers on a regular basis, ESH this would have been fun to talk about on the show.
Don't you get the impression that people got way too carried away with Joey Ballgame mania? Who would have thought the Lions would go to Green Bay and get slaughtered, that almost never happens, right? Get real, this team didn't suddenly get respectable over night. The still lack talent at most positions, they simply have found a QB with ability. Give the guy some time, let's see if M & M can get some players around him.
Am I the only one who is starting to get the feeling that OSU is in for a major disappointment when Michigan travels to Columbus next weekend? I'm with Lee Corso on this one, Ohio State simply doesn't score enough points to go undefeated. Somebody will beat them, the next best chance is for Michigan to do it. Face it, they have two losses, but they are both to top 10 teams. Ohio State was 7-5 last year, have they really improved that much? I don't think they have. Michigan will beat the buckeyes!
ok, I don't get it. I just saw Eminem's movie "8 Mile." What is the big deal? I like Eminem's music, but the movie was depressing and portrayed Detroit as a complete toilet. Am I the only one who left the movie wondering what the hype was all about?

OK, I'll use this Weblog to keep you updated on what is happening as I sit out the 90 day non-compete with Clear Channel Communication.

That leaves 53 days until I can begin my job as Air Personality/Program Director at 1270 AM.

The time off has been great, but I am anxious to get back to work. The excitement of what 1270 AM can be is overwhealming. 1270 AM can be everything I always envisioned and hoped that WDFN would be, great talent, play-by-play and marketing muscle. Within the year 1270 AM will be one of the dominate sports stations in America.

These days I spend most of my time catching up on all the crap I neglected while I was working at WDFN. Mending the fences in the back yard so the pups can't get out, getting the rental property ready to rent, completeing my private pilots certificate and working at the 7-11 I co-own with my brother. Obviously there is plenty to do.
