Johnny D is gone
After just a week on Detroit's Sports Powerhouse it appears that Johnny D has quit his overnight gig. A memo went out to CBS staffers yesterday saying that Johnny "no longer worked at WXYT." I'm not sure why this sports experiment died so quickly. I talked to Johnny D last week and he explained that he was VERY sick and not on the air because of his health. WXYT is searching for new talent, they have a current opening and will have others soon. My source tells me that Program Director Dan Zampillo and PM Drive screecher Mike Valenti hate each other and that Zampillo intends to get even by offering Valenti a joke of a contract. Sounds like a soap opera at The Sports Powerhouse.
