Hi Y'all!!
I wanted to drop everyone a note to tell you what the Henson's have been up to. Things are coming along smoothly here. The boys are enjoying themselves. Noah likes his new school and he is learning lots. He always surprises me with something he says. He told Miss Kate that he would not be coming to school anymore if she kept pulling the fire alarm. He has always hated loud noises. After much discussion he agreed he would attend school but Miss Kate must warn him before she pulls the alarm. Cooper is his own little man. He has quite a personality. I think he is going to be our big sports fan. He is very vocal when cheering for any sport he watches. He doesn't know the teams that are playing but always insists that the Bevos must win. He would wear that Bevo shirt every day if I let him. His favortie color is orange! Noah had jumped on the Sooner bandwagon for a while but today he whispered in my ear that he is a Jets fan. I don't know where that came from. Oh they always have something fun to share.
Last month we went to the Big State Festival. It is a huge concert venue in College Station. There were a bunch of big names...Leon Russel, the Wreckers, Lynrd Skynrd, Lyle Lovett, Tim McGraw and such. Honestly I don't know any of those artists but I am learning. I don't think I will ever really like country music but I am letting my friends help me with it as long as I get to introduce them to They MIght Be Giants and NIN. This is a pick of Cooper at the concert with his buddy Justin.(Noah wouldn't pose for any pics that day).
I celebrated 40 years on the planet with my friends. They surprised me with a nice dinner out at the Domain. It is a fun outdoor mall kind of like a somerset. It was nice to get out with great friends(and no kids).
Halloween was great. It was weird with daylight savings time being pushed back a week. We trick or treated in some daylight. It was also 80 here and for once the kids didn't have to wear coats or clothes under their costumes. Noah has discovered Tootsie Roll. It's like crack to him. Here they are in their costumes.
It is another beautiful fall day here. Today the weather is 83 and blue sky. I swear I will never get tired of this. I remember when I lived in Boulder I made a promise to myself. I had a window in my shower that had a great view of the foothills. Every day I would look out that window and be amazed. I told myself to never take advantage of that beauty. I swear I will do the same thing with my Texas days and sunsets.
We are gearing up for the holidays now. We are going to spend them here instead of Michigan. We are going to start some family traditions of our own now. Sarah I think I am going to steal your xmas eve tradition and make it a mexican food eve. YUM! We are setting up lots of fun things to do here with our neighbors..cookie decorations, nighttime xmas movie for the kids, dirty santa etc. As one mom said we just have to roll home at the end of the night.
Every year we use the same company for our xmas cards. They also did our birth announcements. I had a few people comment on them. If you are interested my friend owns the company and always does a great job. Here is the link. I love the name...2peas1pod.
Well the big U of M vs. OSU game is next week and I think I am going to have to find somewhere for the kids to be that day. Even if Michigan is winning it still isn't going to be comfortable in my house. It wouldn't be safe unless Michigan had a 50 point lead. Cuz Gregg always says they know how to blow it...."I've seen it a million times." LOL
Here is a last pic of the boys and Austin.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
