Drew Lane has left the WRIF building

Longtime morning King Drew Lane is leaving WRIF.  It was no secret that Lane was tired of the morning grind on WRIF, he is know for his work ethic, establishing a reputation as a tireless worker and a perfectionist.  Drew simply grew tired of getting up when most people were going to bed, it is inhumane and those who perfect it often find great success.  I never got use to it and it was a really hard part of my life when I hosted for four years at WDFN with Jamie Samuelsen.

Lane will always be considered one of the best Morning Show Hosts in Detroit radio history.  The current WRIF Morning Show will remain in place and should be just fine as there is a real void in Detroit radio at the moment.

I don't think Lane is done, I fully expect him to resurface in PM Drive somewhere, maybe even the sports format or a new FM talk radio station in Detroit.
