CBS radio blows.

I was reading about the latest CBS screw job.  Kidd Chris, the Morning Show Host at WYSP in Philly got fired Friday because of a "racially insensitive" song that he played on the air in MARCH?  Isn't this May?

I personally haven't heard the song and am not sure if Chris should have been fired or not, but this thing stinks of CBS shenanigans all over again.  This is worse than the Imus firing because the song was actually played during other shows throughout the day for nearly two months.

How does this happen?  Didn't the General Manager hear the song?  Didn't SOMEBODY other than the Program Director hear the song in the two months that it played on WYSP and think that it might not be the best thing to play on the air all day long?  This is typical corporate radio bullshit.  It is another example of Management throwing talent (both on-air and programming) under the bus to protect their own jobs.  The General Manager is ultimately responsible for what happens on the radio station and should be held accountable.  That being said, they may not even be anything worth getting fired about in this story.  CBS is running scared in more ways than one and it is simply easier to dump the talent.

I think Kidd Chris may have been fired to get rid of his contract, CBS likes to sign long term deals and then wiggle out of them in the fine print.

It is obvious that Chris got screwed by the despicable Executives at CBS, the company is creatively bankrupt and they have no clue how to fix the down slide that started with Howard Stern's departure three years ago.

CBS isn't the only company that is wandering aimlessly, Clear Channel is a joke as well and are in the process of screwing listeners and employees in the company sale to a holding company.  Believe me, if Clear Channel Employees thought the layoffs were bad BEFORE the sale, they have NO idea how bad it will get once the banks get a hold of the properties.

My advice, listen to Sirius or Internet broadcasts, CBS, Clear Channel and the other big radio companies aren't interested in you.
