Breath easy Redskins fans, Albert Haynesworth says that he is not a $100 million dollar slave.
Hayensworth, talking with 106.7 The Fan in D.C. explained that he was upset with the teams switch to a 3-4 defense.
"I guess in this world we don't have a lot of people with, like, backbones," Haynesworth said. "Just because somebody pay you money don't mean they'll make you do whatever they want or whatever. I mean, does that mean everything is for sale?
"I mean, I'm not for sale. Yeah, I signed the contract and got paid a lot of money, but ... that don't mean I'm for sale or a slave or whatever."
Isn't it good to know that Albert is fighting the good fight for "millionaire slaves" everywhere?
UPDATE – 7pm EST – One of my original two sources on this story has stated that Jerry Jones wants a longterm solution for his HC and is really working the phones about getting this done. Believe it or not, the name of Jimmy Johnson has been mentioned to me before but not until getting confirmation at dinner tonight. I now believe Johnson could actually be among one of the three former head coaches that Jones seriously wants roaming the Dallas sidelines. Who would you take – Johnson, Billick or Cowher?
I am as clueless as the next guy about this story but Kevin Lee from the web site prosportsblogging.com is all over this story. It is so odd that it is hard to believe but we grilled this guy on the show today, he seems legit. Here is the grilling.
Dez Bryant vs. Roy Williams is on! After practice Roy Williams dropped off his and Patrick Crayton's shoulder pads for Dez to carry back to the locker room. This is a fairly regular "hazing for rookies, but Dez was having none of it. He waved off Roy and left the should pads where Williams set them and walked off the field.
"I get paid to play football not carry shoulder pads," was all Dez said when asked about the snub of Roy Williams.
All Williams would say was "we are going to have to take it to step two" whatever that means.
Doesn't Bryant blowing off Roy Williams show that he really does't really respect Roy? Why else would you not go along with the hazing to make nice. Keep an eye on this battle in camp.
By the way, Roy said it again today! "Me and Tony haven't been on the same page," huh? Why not? What happened to all the extra work they were doing for the last year? Weird.
