It is another great weekend of college football and this week I have been asked to be the guest picker for Todd Kaufmann of "Bleacher Report." If you are interested in my picks, click here. My picks for the week start on slide 20.
Why would ESPN schedule Matt Millen of all people to call the Michigan vs MSU game this weekend in Ann Arbor. What, was Kwame Kilpatrick busy?
Millen is the scourge of football in Detroit and is easily the most hated sports figure in the area, yet ESPN decided it was a good idea to let that slap-dick call the biggest Michigan vs. MSU game in a decade.
Trust me, ESPN is aware of the hatred of Millen in Detroit, they just don't care what you think. Maybe Wolverine and Spartan fans will give him one last round of the "fire Matt Millen" chant.
Geez, what in the hell is wrong with Jim Mora Jr. Check out this clip of ESPN's Doug Gottlieb interviewing Michael Vick's former coach, Mora comes of ass a complete D-bag.
M Go Blog is reporting that Michigan and Alabama are in the final stages of a contract to play a game at Cowboy stadium in Dallas in 2012.
Initially this struck me as nothing more than a rumor as Michigan NEVER plays a neutral site game, let alone south of the Mason-Dixon line. Add to that, most college stadiums can't produce the kind of revenue necessary for Michigan to give up a home date under any circumstances.
However Jerry Jones stadium can hold almost 100,000 and could easily allow Cowboy owner Jerry Jones to overpay to get these two college football powers on the gridiron.
If Jerry wants it to happen, it will happen! I'd pencil this game in for sometime in early September 2010.
Dez Bryant vs. Roy Williams is on! After practice Roy Williams dropped off his and Patrick Crayton's shoulder pads for Dez to carry back to the locker room. This is a fairly regular "hazing for rookies, but Dez was having none of it. He waved off Roy and left the should pads where Williams set them and walked off the field.
"I get paid to play football not carry shoulder pads," was all Dez said when asked about the snub of Roy Williams.
All Williams would say was "we are going to have to take it to step two" whatever that means.
Doesn't Bryant blowing off Roy Williams show that he really does't really respect Roy? Why else would you not go along with the hazing to make nice. Keep an eye on this battle in camp.
By the way, Roy said it again today! "Me and Tony haven't been on the same page," huh? Why not? What happened to all the extra work they were doing for the last year? Weird.
