If you haven't seen the new Mark Burnett ABC series, I suggest you tune in Sunday nights at 9 p.m. eastern. This is his best series yet, yeah, I know, I loved Survivor too but this is better. This show combines, American Idol, Survivor and The Gong Show.
The premise is, entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to 5 investors and the investors evaluate the business model and decide if they would like to invest in the business. The "Sharks" are billionaires, Barbara Corcoran, a Real Estate mogul, Daymond John, Inventor of FUBU, Kevin O'Leary, Kevin Harrington and Robert Herjavec. All are really strong personalities who obviously were selected because they are great "sharks."
The Sharks are allowed to offer any deal to the entrepreneur and they can even combine to do a deal.
The show is great because of the Gong Show element, some people come in with ridiculous business ideas and get whacked in the head, mostly by O'Leary who plays to the camera at every opportunity. The guy clearly wants to be Simon Cowell.
Here is a clip of the season.
This is a clip of some douche who was seeking money to IMPLANT a blue tooth in your ear permanently.
I have been informed by my wife that "The Bachelor" didn't choose either of the contestants last night in "The Bachelor" finale. Based on my limited research he didn't choose this chick, who is a Phoenix Suns cheerleader. Dummy! You don't have to split atoms with her or build houses in Darfur for refugees. Hasn't he ever hear the term "knock her bottom out?" Nothing guys hate worse than a homo who thinks he can do better than this babe.
Check out this new site called graboid.....graboid is a web site where you can download TV and movies for free. You can also pay a little more and get access to additional movies and services. Maybe you can ditch your television services and watch the freebies from graboid.
Last week Don Imus on WFAN radio and MSNBC television make ridiculous statements about the Rutgers women's basketball team. Imus called the Rutgers women "Nappy headed ho's" and his Executive Producer called them "Jigaboo's" in reference to Spike Lee's movie School Daze.
While I will defend Imus and his clan's right to free speech, they certainly don't have the right to work on the radio and television. The radio station is owned by CBS Radio and they are well within their rights to terminate Imus and his crew for the comments. There is no such thing as free speech in the media, especially when it falls under the "hate speech" classification. The company that employs you has every right to fire you for comments made on the radio, I should know, it happened to me.
I hope this isn't the end of Imus's radio career but this type of radio is just dumb, we all know that in the days of rampant political correctness not to engage in racial discussions. Michael Richards found this out the hard way and so did Micheal Ray Richardson following his "jew" comments.
I suspect Imus will get suspended and make the "white man apology" tour and he should, however, in the future I suspect Radio Hosts who engage in this type of speech will immediately get the boot. This is just the way it is and the times in which we live.
As I was getting ready for my trip to Venice, Italy I was growing concerned that I wouldn't be able to get local news and sports info, but my problem was solved. Check out this new piece of technology called "The Sling Box."
I got this thing at Compusa, it works as a television on my computer. I hooked it up to my tivo and now I can control my Tivo and view local television while I am on the road. I can't wait to try it out in Italy. I plan to watch the Michigan v. Northern Illinois game in Italy on Saturday night. I will let you know how it works.
