The drive from Dallas to Detroit wasn't bad at all, we are staying with my in-laws and visiting family this week in Michigan. The grandparents haven't seen the kids in almost three years so we decided to visit for the holidays. The drive was 18 hours and we stayed overnight in St. Louis to rest for a few hours. We got to Michigan on Saturday at 3 p.m.
I am never in a hurry to leave Dallas, the weather is great, the city rocks and the people are cool. However, coming back to Michigan for Christmas does have its advantages. For example, you can't get a Detroit coney dog in Dallas. Look at this beast from Athens Coney Island in Royal Oak, it's a real heart stopper.
Today was a one day cheat from my diet, I hope I didn't regain the six pounds I lost last week in one sitting. Back to it Monday morning.
While having coffee in Royal Oak with a couple of our friends we came across Santa Claus wandering Main St. Noah and Cooper had their lists ready to go. You never want to miss an opportunity.
The rest of the week will be spent visiting family and celebrating the holidays. Right now it is 18 degrees. Can't wait to get back to Dallas. LOL.
