I got a little bored on TUesday so I packed up the boys and took a ride to see the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2006" house.
On my show on Halloween day a couple of people called to tell me that the movie had been filmed not far from my house and that I should take a ride to check it out.
I'm not a HUGE Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan, I saw the original late last year for the first time, but I am interested in seeing where movies are filmed.
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed here in Round Rock and I have explored the site where Leatherface did his "dance" at the end of the original, but the area is now a strip mall except for the strip of country road 172 where Leatherface lost the woman at the end of the original.
The location I have pictured is the home of Leatherface's family in the new movie with Jessica Beil that was shot in 2006.
R. Lee Ermy was the creepy sheriff who abducted the kids and took them to this house for "examination" by Leatherface.
The house is as creepy in person as it is in the movie. The house was located just south of a really depressed town called Granger, Texas. It is at the corner of Texas highway 95 and county road 336.
The house is realy unique in that is has a real presence to it, it is HUGE and has a distinct look about it.
I wasn't planning to visit the house when I left the house so I only had my cell phone with me to take the pictures, but you can clearly see that this is Leatherface's home in the 2006 remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
