OK, I admit, one of the reason's Killer's sudden death was so shocking is because it could happen to any one of us. None of us are getting any younger and the sudden impact of Killer's passing should rattle more than a few of us to take better care of ourselves. Not that Tom wasn't in shape, I have no clue, but I am one of the many that could lose a pound or fifty!
As not to let the message from Killer get lost, I am getting with it today. I haven't lost a pound (but I've gained many) since I had a weight loss competition with Art Regner in 2002 at WXYT. Art lost 80 pounds and I lost 45 on the LA Weight Loss diet. I'm going to replicate that same diet and start again today! It really was actually pretty easy to lose the weight, the problem is getting to the maintenance phase where you are actually altering your lifestyle to maintain your goal weight.
It pisses me off that for the last 8 years I haven't paid a bit of attention to my own health. It is easy to blame the kids and work for being busy, but really there is no excuse. There are plenty of people everyday who manage to maintain great health and exercise programs.
I'm a tool though, I love to exercise....my biggest problem is NOT hitting the drive-thru on the way home from the gym.
What is even worse? I am a type 2 diabetic and I haven't even attempted to drop weight in the last 2 years. How stupid, it is almost like I have a death wish, which I don't.
So there ya go, I'm gonna kick start it today. I'll update you on my progress. I posted this so YOU will keep me accountable! Feel free to ridicule me and call me names until I reach the goal.
